By default, every transfer shows a total preview count so you can see how many times the document was opened. To see per-recipient detail, including who viewed it and when, you need to enable tracked or restricted access mode when sending. Once enabled, you get a log for each recipient who engaged with the transfer.
Previews do not trigger email notifications, so you won't get an alert every time someone opens the file. Instead, you check the view count and per-recipient log directly from your transfer list whenever you want. If you need to know when someone downloads the document, you can enable download tracking, which does generate a notification.
Recipients can preview PDFs, Word documents (DOC and DOCX), PowerPoint presentations (PPT and PPTX), Excel spreadsheets (XLS and XLSX), RTF, ODT, ODS, CSV, and plain text files directly in the browser. No software or account is needed to view them. This makes it easy to review a proposal or contract before deciding to download it.
You can restrict access to a specific email address or a list of addresses when you send the transfer. Only those recipients can open the link, and their views are logged so you know exactly who engaged. You can also add a password to the transfer as an extra layer of protection, available on all plans.
The basic preview count is visible on all plans, including free. Per-recipient tracking through access control is also available on all plans. Free accounts can send up to 10 email recipients per transfer, while paid plans raise that limit to 50, which is worth knowing if you're sharing documents with a large group.
