WeTransfer shows a live preview count on every transfer you send, the moment it goes out. When a client delivery or portfolio drop matters, you can dig deeper and get a per-recipient record of who previewed your work and when.
Keep count of who views your transfer
Sharing your work as an artist or creator means wanting to know it actually landed. WeTransfer surfaces view activity on every transfer automatically, so you can gauge engagement on mood boards, campaign assets, or finished pieces without any extra steps. For client reviews or time-sensitive pitches, enabling access control gives you a named, timestamped log showing exactly who looked at your files. You can also turn on download tracking separately to see who saved a copy. Recipients can preview images, video, audio, and PDFs directly in the browser before deciding what to download, giving you a clearer picture of what's resonating.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Every transfer you send includes a preview count visible from your account, no setup required. To see individual viewer detail, enable tracked or restricted access mode on the transfer, which gives you a per-recipient log showing who previewed your files and the exact time they did it.
WeTransfer does not send email notifications when someone previews a transfer. Instead, view activity is logged in your account so you can check in at any time. When access control is enabled, you get a detailed per-recipient breakdown rather than a single aggregate count.
Recipients can preview images including JPEGs, PNGs, TIFFs, HEICs, PSDs, and a range of RAW formats, as well as MP4 and MOV video files, MP3 and WAV audio, and PDFs, all directly in the browser. This means a client can review your work before committing to a download, and each preview is reflected in your view count.
They are separate features. Preview tracking records each time someone opens and views your transfer in the browser, and it is always on. Download tracking, which shows who saved copies of your files, needs to be explicitly enabled by you before sending. Using both together gives you the fullest picture of how your work is being received.
Yes. You can restrict access to a specific email address or a list of addresses, so only the people you approve can open the transfer. This is useful when sharing unreleased work, client exclusives, or anything you do not want circulating beyond the intended audience. Anyone not on the list will not be able to access the files even if they have the link.
