Yes. Every WeTransfer transfer includes a browser-based preview page where recipients can play MP4 and MOV files directly — no download, no app, and no WeTransfer account required on their end. Video files up to 300 MB are supported for in-browser playback. If a clip is larger than that, the recipient can still download it in full original quality.
Exactly. The preview page shows all files in the transfer individually, so your editor can watch each clip, mark favorites, and download only the ones they need. They're not forced to grab the entire transfer as a zip file unless they want to — selective downloading is built into the preview experience.
No. WeTransfer transfers files without altering them in any way — no re-encoding, no resolution loss, and no quality reduction for 4K or high-bitrate footage. The preview plays at a slightly lower resolution to load quickly in the browser, but the downloadable file is always your original, untouched export.
Yes. Recipients can open any file in the preview and leave a comment tied directly to that clip, so feedback on a particular shot or sequence stays attached to the footage itself rather than arriving in a disconnected email. Comments can be left without a WeTransfer account, though non-logged-in viewers are asked for a name and email address first. You receive an email notification each time someone adds a comment.
