Every transfer you send on WeTransfer comes with a built-in preview page that opens straight in the browser. Clients, art directors, and collaborators can scroll through a full shoot, watch video clips, and review audio before they download a single file. No app, no account, nothing to install on their end.
Browse files and folders, then download
Photographers and videographers spend hours creating work that clients often need to review quickly, and WeTransfer's browser-based preview puts every file in front of them the moment they open the link. Raw images, edited sequences, audio tracks, and PDFs all display in the preview at high fidelity, so a client can approve selects or flag a specific frame without pulling down a multi-gigabyte folder first. Recipients can mark individual files as favorites and leave comments tied directly to each file, keeping feedback attached to the exact shot or clip rather than scattered across email threads. Your files reach the other end exactly as you uploaded them, with no re-encoding, no compression, and no resolution loss, so 4K footage and full-resolution RAW files arrive untouched. When a shoot contains images meant only for the client, you can add password protection or restrict access to a specific list of email addresses.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Recipients can preview JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, HEIC, PSD, and a wide range of RAW formats including ARW, NEF, CR2, CR3, DNG, RAF, and others directly in the browser. MP4 and MOV video files up to 300 MB are also previewable, as are MP3 and WAV audio files up to 300 MB and PDF documents. For formats outside those supported in the preview, recipients can still see the file listed and choose to download it individually.
Yes. The preview page lets recipients browse every file in the transfer individually and download only the ones they want, rather than pulling down the entire batch. This is especially useful when you have delivered a full shoot and the client needs just their final selects, saving them time and storage space. Files are downloaded in their original quality with no compression applied.
Yes, recipients can comment directly on individual files within the preview, so feedback stays anchored to the exact frame or image rather than arriving in a separate message. They can also mark favorites, which makes it straightforward to identify approved selects at a glance. Comments are enabled by default once you turn them on for a transfer, and WeTransfer remembers that preference for future sends.
No. WeTransfer sends files exactly as you uploaded them, with no re-encoding, no compression, and no resolution loss. A 100 MB RAW file or a 4K video clip arrives at the other end byte-for-byte identical to what left your hard drive. The preview page displays a slightly lower-resolution version for fast browsing, but the downloadable file is always the original.
You have two options. Adding a password means only recipients who know it can open the preview or download the files, and you share that password with your client separately outside WeTransfer. Alternatively, you can use restricted access to lock the transfer to one or more specific email addresses, so only those people can get through even if the link ends up somewhere else. Both options are available on all plans and can be set before or after sending.
