Yes. Every WeTransfer transfer includes a preview page that opens in the browser, and PDFs are fully supported. Recipients can scroll through the document before deciding whether to download it, with no app or account required on their end.
Yes. Recipients can leave comments tied directly to individual files on the preview page — no separate email thread or annotation tool needed. Comments are turned off by default, so you enable them when setting up the transfer or update the setting afterwards from your Transfers panel.
WeTransfer does not alter your files. Your PDF is stored and delivered exactly as you uploaded it, with no compression, no conversion, and no formatting changes. The preview displays at a slightly lower resolution than the original, but the downloaded file is always the unmodified original.
Two options let you control access. Password protection locks the transfer so only people who know the password can open it — and the password is never included in the notification email, so you share it separately. Restricted access lets you specify a list of email addresses, and only those people can open the transfer after verifying their identity. Both options are available on all plans.
Free plan transfers are available for up to 3 days from the moment they are sent. On Ultimate and above, you can set a custom expiry or keep the transfer available indefinitely. If a transfer expires on Ultimate or above and the Recoverable option was enabled, it can be retrieved later — including transfers that expired before you upgraded.
