Send images your clients can browse before downloading

WeTransfer generates a preview page for every transfer you send. Recipients can scroll through your images in the browser, mark their favorites, and download only the shots they want — without signing up or installing anything.

When you share images through WeTransfer, recipients land on a preview page that opens right in the browser, showing each photo at a glance before anything is saved to their device. That means a client reviewing a shoot, an art director checking deliverables, or a collaborator picking selects can all do so without a blind download first. From the same page, viewers can favorite individual images and leave comments attached to specific files, so feedback arrives connected to the work rather than buried in a separate thread. Every image is delivered exactly as you uploaded it, with no compression, no resolution changes, and no re-encoding at any stage. All you need to start sending is a free account.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

WeTransfer's preview page supports a wide range of image formats including JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, HEIC/HEIF, PSD/PSB, and RAW files such as ARW, NEF, CR2/CR3, DNG, RAF, RW2, and ORF. Recipients can browse these directly in the browser without downloading or opening any software. The preview displays at a slightly lower resolution than the original, so the full-quality file is always waiting when they choose to download.

Yes. From the preview page, recipients can mark individual images as favorites, which makes it easy for clients to flag selects without needing to download the full set first. This works across all plans and requires no account on the recipient's side. It keeps the selection process tidy and gives you a clear signal on which images they want.

They can, as long as comments are enabled on the transfer. Viewers click on an image in the preview to open a comment field, and they don't need a WeTransfer account to leave one — just a name and email address. Comments are attached to the specific file rather than the transfer as a whole, so feedback stays connected to the image it refers to. You'll receive an email notification each time someone comments.

No. WeTransfer delivers files exactly as they were uploaded, with no compression, no re-encoding, and no resolution changes applied at any point. The in-browser preview renders at a slightly reduced resolution for fast loading, but the actual downloaded file is always the original. That holds true whether you're sharing JPEGs, TIFFs, or high-resolution RAW files.

Yes. You can add a password to any transfer so only recipients who know it can open the preview page. For tighter control, you can restrict access to a specific list of email addresses, meaning anyone outside that list is turned away even if they have the link. Both options are available on all plans and can be set before sending or updated after the transfer is already live.
