Let your audience preview your work before they download

Every transfer you send on WeTransfer includes a built-in preview page. Clients, collaborators, and fans can browse your images, videos, audio, and PDFs right in the browser, favorite what they want, and download only those files. They never need an account to do any of it.

Creatives often need recipients to make deliberate choices about what they take away from a handoff, and WeTransfer's preview page is built for exactly that. Every transfer opens as a browsable gallery in the browser, letting a client scroll through a video edit alongside a PDF treatment and a folder of stills before saving a single file to their machine. Recipients can mark individual items as favorites and leave comments tied to specific files, so revision notes and approvals stay attached to the exact asset rather than drifting into a separate message thread. Nothing about your files changes in transit: no compression, no re-encoding, no resolution loss, whether you are sending 4K footage, high-resolution artwork, or layered design files. For work that needs an extra layer of control, you can add a password, restrict access to a specific list of email addresses, or add a custom background and description to give the transfer a more considered, branded feel.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Recipients can preview images — including JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, HEIC, PSD, and a wide range of RAW formats — alongside MP4 and MOV videos, MP3 and WAV audio, and PDFs, all directly in the browser. The preview displays at a slightly lower resolution than the original so the recipient can decide what to save, but every file they actually download arrives exactly as you uploaded it: full resolution, no re-encoding, no compression.

Yes. When a recipient opens your transfer link, they land on a preview page that shows every file in the transfer. They can browse through the contents, mark favorites, and then choose to download only the files they actually want, rather than pulling down a single zip of everything. This is useful when you are sending a batch that includes final deliverables, working files, and reference material that not every recipient needs.

Reviewers can click on any file in the preview and leave a comment tied to that specific item, so feedback on one video cut or one artwork variant stays attached to that file rather than arriving in a separate email. Transfer owners receive a notification for each new comment. Comments are off by default, but once you enable them on a transfer, WeTransfer remembers the preference for future transfers. Recipients do not need a WeTransfer account to comment, though they will be asked for a name and email address.

No. Anyone with the download link can open the preview page, browse the files, and download whatever they need without signing up for anything. This applies whether you share the link directly or send it by email. Creating an account is only required on the sending side.

You have a couple of options you can use separately or together. Password protection locks the transfer so only recipients who know the password can open the preview page. Restricted access lets you specify a list of email addresses, and anyone who opens the link must verify they are on that list before they can see anything. Both options are available on all plans and can be set before you send or adjusted afterward from your Transfers panel.
