Share audit PDFs clients can read before downloading

WeTransfer gives every transfer its own preview page, so colleagues, clients, and auditors can open your PDFs and supporting documents directly in the browser. They can read through what you've shared, flag specific files, and download only what they need — no account required on their end.

Consulting and audit work depends on getting the right documents to the right people quickly, without creating friction around access or version control. When you send a transfer on WeTransfer, recipients get a dedicated preview page where they can read through PDFs, spreadsheets, and supporting materials in the browser before committing to a single download. That means a client can review a draft report, an auditor can check a disclosure document, or a colleague can scan an appendix without saving files they may not need. Recipients can mark individual items as favorites and leave comments tied to specific files, so feedback and sign-off stay attached to the exact document rather than scattered across email. Every file arrives precisely as you uploaded it, with no changes to formatting, resolution, or document structure.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes. Every WeTransfer transfer includes a built-in preview page where recipients can open and read PDFs directly in the browser — no download required and no WeTransfer account needed on their end. This is useful for consulting and audit workflows where a stakeholder needs to review a report or disclosure document before deciding whether to save it locally.

Exactly how it works. Recipients land on the transfer preview page, browse each file individually, and download only what they actually need — a single appendix, a specific engagement letter, or the full set if they want everything. This avoids the back-and-forth of resending individual files after a bulk transfer.

Yes. Recipients can comment directly on individual files in the preview, so feedback is attached to the exact document it refers to rather than arriving as a separate email. Reviewers do not need a WeTransfer account to leave a comment — they just enter their name and email address when prompted. You receive an email notification each time a new comment is added.

WeTransfer gives you a few ways to restrict access. You can add a password to the transfer so only recipients who know it can open the files, or you can enable restricted access and specify a list of email addresses — anyone outside that list is blocked when they try to open the link. Both options are available on all plans and can be set before sending or adjusted afterward from your Transfers panel.

WeTransfer does not alter, compress, or re-encode any files during transfer. PDFs arrive exactly as you uploaded them, with original formatting, fonts, and document structure intact. This matters for audit reports, financial statements, and legal documents where layout precision is expected by the recipient.
