Share design files clients can review before downloading

WeTransfer gives every transfer a built-in preview page. Clients and collaborators can open your design files directly in the browser, pick exactly what they need, and leave feedback on individual files — before saving a single thing to their device.

Browse files and folders, then download

Advertising and marketing professionals often send large batches of design work — mockups, brand assets, presentation decks, print-ready files — to clients or colleagues who need to review before they commit to downloading. WeTransfer's preview page puts all those files in front of recipients the moment they open the link, right in the browser, with no software to install and no account required on their end. Reviewers can scroll through the full transfer, mark specific files as favorites, and attach comments to individual pieces, so creative feedback stays anchored to the actual work rather than lost in email threads. Files arrive exactly as you uploaded them, with no compression and no quality changes at any point. A free account is all you need to start sending.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Recipients can preview JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, HEIC, PSD and PSB files, common RAW formats, PDFs, standard Office documents, and video and audio files — all without downloading first. For design workflows, that means mood boards, exported mockups, and PDF presentations can be reviewed in the browser as soon as the link is opened. Files that fall outside supported preview formats still transfer without issue; recipients simply download them directly.

Yes. Anyone with access to the transfer can click into any individual file on the preview page and leave a comment attached to that file, so notes about a specific banner or layout stay connected to the right asset. Comments are turned off by default but can be enabled in the transfer settings before or after sending. Recipients do not need a WeTransfer account to comment — they just provide their name and email address when prompted.

Yes. The preview page lets recipients download individual files rather than the full transfer, so a client can grab just the final logo variant or the approved layout without pulling down the entire project folder. They can also mark files as favorites directly from the preview, making it easy to flag the assets they want to keep before downloading anything.

No. WeTransfer does not compress, re-encode, or alter files at any stage of the transfer. Whatever you upload — a high-resolution PSD, a print-ready PDF, or an exported PNG — is exactly what the recipient receives. The in-browser preview renders at a slightly lower resolution for speed, but the downloaded file is always the original.

Yes. You can add a password to any transfer so only recipients who have it can access the files. You can also enable restricted access, which limits downloads to a specific list of email addresses — useful when sharing campaign assets with an approved client or agency team. Download tracking is available on all plans, letting you see who has opened and downloaded your files and when.
