Send RAW photos that expire when you say

When you share RAW files, you decide how long the link stays open. Whether it's a client preview window or a timed delivery, access closes on its own the moment your handoff is done.

Transfer expiration is in your hands

Photographers frequently need to deliver high-resolution RAW files at a specific point in a project, and just as often need that access to stop once the window has passed. WeTransfer lets you attach an expiry to any transfer at the time of sending, so the link deactivates automatically without any follow-up from you. Your ARW, NEF, CR2, CR3, DNG, RAF, and other RAW formats are delivered without compression or re-encoding, arriving at their original resolution and file size. For shoots or deliveries that call for tighter control, you can also layer on password protection or restrict the transfer to a named list of email addresses. Recipients can preview compatible files directly in the browser before committing to a download, making it easy to confirm the right set of images before saving anything locally.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

WeTransfer supports a wide range of RAW formats, including ARW (Sony), NEF (Nikon), CR2 and CR3 (Canon), DNG, RAF (Fujifilm), RW2 (Panasonic), and ORF (Olympus), among others. Files are transferred without any compression or re-encoding, so your originals land exactly as they left your camera or editing software.

Before clicking Send, open the transfer options and set your preferred expiry. On a free account, links stay active for up to 3 days. On an Ultimate plan or above, you can choose any custom duration or keep the transfer active indefinitely, which is useful for long-running client relationships or archival deliveries.

Yes. Go to your Transfers panel, open the transfer, and adjust the expiration date from there. Changes take effect immediately, though recipients won't be notified automatically, so it's worth letting them know directly if the window is closing sooner than expected.

Recipients can preview RAW files directly in the browser on the WeTransfer download page, which makes it straightforward to scan a delivery and choose which images to save locally. Previews display at a slightly reduced resolution so the full-quality originals are only downloaded when needed.

Once a transfer expires, the files are permanently removed from WeTransfer's servers and the download link stops working. On Ultimate plans and above, the Recoverable option can be enabled when sending, which allows expired transfers to be retrieved within a set window after expiry. Free and Starter transfers cannot be recovered once they expire.
