Before you upload, click the expiry option in the transfer window and choose how long you want the link to stay open. Once the transfer is live, you can also update that date from your Transfers panel at any time. Free and Starter accounts cap transfers at 3 days, while Ultimate and above let you pick any duration or keep the transfer open indefinitely.
Yes. WeTransfer sends files in their original format with no compression, re-encoding, or modification of any kind. Your PSD arrives with its layer structure, color profiles, embedded smart objects, and full resolution exactly as you saved it, whether you're sending a flat export or a multi-layered working file.
Yes, you can adjust the expiry on any active transfer from your Transfers panel. Find the transfer, open its settings, and pick a new closing date using the calendar. The change takes effect immediately, though the recipient won't be notified automatically, so it's worth letting them know directly if the window is tightening.
Yes. You can lock a transfer so only people on a defined list of email addresses can open it, or set it to require email verification before anyone with the link can download. Both options work alongside your chosen expiry, so you control both who can access the files and how long that window stays open. This is available on all plans.
Once a transfer reaches its expiry, the download link stops working and the files are permanently removed from WeTransfer's servers. On Ultimate and above, you can enable the Recoverable option before sending, which allows expired transfers to be retrieved for up to a year for files under 256 MB, or up to 90 days for larger files. Free and Starter transfers cannot be recovered after expiry.
