In hospitality, files move fast: event proposals, guest contracts, menu PDFs, vendor quotes. WeTransfer lets you choose exactly when a shared link switches off, so time-sensitive documents stop being accessible the moment the booking window, review period, or handoff deadline passes.
Transfer expiration is in your hands
Hospitality teams share documents on tight schedules, from catering quotes that need sign-off before an event date to room block contracts with a specific response window. WeTransfer lets you build a closing date into every transfer before you hit send, and the link deactivates automatically when that moment arrives, with no manual chasing required. Every file arrives exactly as you prepared it, whether that is a high-resolution venue layout, a PDF proposal, a branded presentation, or a ZIP of supplier materials, with no compression and no quality loss. For especially sensitive handoffs, you can combine expiry with a password or restrict access to a named list of email addresses, so only the right contacts at a hotel group, event agency, or catering partner can open the files. Recipients can also preview supported formats straight in the browser before downloading, keeping approvals moving even when stakeholders are spread across multiple properties or time zones.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
When you upload your files on WeTransfer, there is an expiry option in the transfer settings before you click send. You pick the date you want the link to stop working, and WeTransfer deactivates it automatically at that point. You can also return to the transfer in your Sent panel later and adjust the expiry date on any active transfer without resending the files.
On the free plan, expired transfers are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. On Ultimate and above, expired transfers can be retrieved within a set recovery window, which is especially useful if a client missed the download before a deadline. You can restore the transfer from your Sent panel and share the link again directly.
WeTransfer handles any file type without compression, so venue layouts, catering menus, event run sheets, branded PDFs, high-resolution photography, video walkthroughs, audio files, spreadsheets, and ZIP archives of supplier documents all transfer exactly as saved. Recipients can preview images, PDFs, video, and audio directly in the browser before deciding what to download, which is handy when sharing large packages with event planners or procurement teams.
Yes. Alongside setting an expiry, you can restrict access to a specific list of email addresses, meaning only those named contacts can open the files even if they have the link. This is useful when sharing confidential rate sheets, signed contracts, or staff briefing documents with a particular hotel general manager or event coordinator, rather than leaving them open to anyone who comes across the URL.
No account is needed to download. Anyone you send a link to, whether a catering supplier, a venue contact, or an event agency, can open and download the files directly in their browser. They can also preview supported formats before downloading, so they can check the right version is there without saving everything locally first.
