WeTransfer accepts any file format your Figma workflow produces, including PNG, JPEG, PDF, SVG, and ZIP archives of exported assets. If you're handing off to developers or sharing with a client, you can bundle everything into a folder and upload it as-is. Recipients download the files with the original folder structure intact, so nothing gets shuffled around in transit.
Before you click send, open the transfer options and choose how long you want the link to stay active. Free accounts keep links available for up to 3 days, while Ultimate and above let you pick any window you like, or keep the transfer available indefinitely. Once your chosen time is up, the link goes dark automatically and the files are removed from WeTransfer's servers.
Yes. Go to your Transfers panel, open the transfer, and adjust the expiration date from there. The change takes effect immediately, so if a review is running long or you want to close access early, you can update it without re-uploading anything. Just let your recipient know directly, since WeTransfer won't automatically notify them of the change.
You can restrict access to a specific list of email addresses, so only the people you name can open the download link. There's also a tracked option where anyone with the link must verify their email before downloading, and you get a notification each time someone accesses the files. Both options work alongside expiry, giving you control over both who can see the files and for how long.
Once a transfer expires, the download link stops working and the files are permanently deleted from WeTransfer's servers. Neither you nor your recipient can access them after that point, which is exactly what makes expiry useful for design work that's tied to a specific handoff or review window.
