Share official files from your own domain

Government bodies and NGOs deal in documents that carry real weight, from policy briefs to grant files to public-facing reports. WeTransfer Ultimate lets you send them from a custom subdomain that carries your organisation's identity, paired with your own branding, so every delivery looks official before the recipient opens a single file. That same address works as a receiving portal where partners, applicants, or staff can send documents back to you.

Public-sector organisations and NGOs often need file delivery that signals institutional legitimacy, not a generic third-party platform. With WeTransfer Ultimate, you claim a custom subdomain under your organisation's name, add a logo, set branded backgrounds, and include a per-transfer description that gives recipients the right context from the first click. Policy documents, data exports, annual reports, budget spreadsheets, presentation decks, and every other format common in public-sector work arrive without compression, exactly as prepared. Partners, grantees, or field teams can preview supported files directly in the browser and leave comments on individual documents without creating an account. When handling restricted or sensitive materials, you can lock a transfer with a password or limit downloads to a specific list of approved email addresses.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

On WeTransfer Ultimate, go to Account Settings and claim your subdomain under your organisation's name. From there you can add a logo, upload up to five rotating background images or videos, set social links, and write a description that appears on your branded page. Once it's live, every transfer you send goes out from that address rather than a generic wetransfer.com URL.

Yes. Your custom WeTransfer page doubles as an upload portal where anyone can send files directly to you, with no additional setup needed beyond claiming your subdomain. Senders need a free WeTransfer account to upload, but recipients on your end see everything arrive in one organised place. This makes it straightforward for grantees, field teams, or partner NGOs to submit documents without email attachment limits getting in the way.

WeTransfer handles any file type without modification, including PDFs, Word and Excel documents, PowerPoint presentations, ZIP archives, high-resolution images, video footage, audio files, and large data exports. Files are sent without compression or re-encoding, so every spreadsheet, policy brief, or report arrives exactly as it was prepared, with no formatting loss or quality change.

You can restrict a transfer to a specific list of approved email addresses, so only those recipients can access the files after verifying their identity. Alternatively, you can lock any transfer behind a password and share that separately through your own secure channels. Both options are available on all plans, including Ultimate, and can be applied to individual transfers as needed.

Yes. Download tracking is available on all plans and must be enabled by the sender when creating a transfer. For email transfers, you can see a per-recipient status showing whether files have been downloaded and when. If you enable tracked downloads through Access Control on Ultimate, anyone who opens the link must verify their email address first, and you receive a detailed notification each time a download occurs.
