Go to the Transfers panel in your account and find the transfer you sent. Each transfer shows a status label indicating whether the files have been downloaded or not, and for email transfers a checkmark appears next to each recipient's address once they download, with the exact date and time visible on hover. No chaser email needed.
Basic download status is recorded automatically on every transfer, so you can always see whether files have been collected. If you want detailed per-download notifications and a full activity log showing who accessed the transfer and when, you need to enable Access Control before sending. That feature must be turned on by the sender for each transfer.
Yes. When you enable the Tracked downloads option under Access Control before sending, WeTransfer asks every downloader to verify their email address and then sends you a notification each time the files are accessed. This is useful for keeping an audit trail when distributing materials to multiple external telecom partners or contractors.
Enable Restricted downloads when creating the transfer and add the approved email addresses to your access list. Anyone who opens the link must verify their email address, and access is only granted if they match your list. You can also edit the access list after the transfer is sent from the transfer details page, and changes take effect immediately.
WeTransfer supports any file type, including technical drawings, CAD files, PDFs, Office documents, ZIP archives, and video presentations. Files are sent in their original quality with no compression or re-encoding, so network diagrams, schematics, and specification documents arrive exactly as you uploaded them.
