Open your Transfers panel and find the transfer you sent. Each email transfer shows a status per recipient, including a checkmark and the exact date and time of download once the files have been collected. If the transfer has not been downloaded yet, the status reflects that too, giving you a clear picture before you follow up.


Yes. Before sending, enable Access Control in the transfer settings and select Tracked downloads. Anyone who opens the link will need to verify their email address first, and you receive a detailed notification each time a download takes place. This is particularly useful for audit deliverables or proposals where you need a reliable record of who accessed the files and when.


Yes. Restricted downloads lets you specify a list of approved email addresses before you send. When someone opens the link, they must verify their email and access is only granted if their address matches your list. You can add or remove addresses from the list after sending, and changes take effect immediately.


WeTransfer sends files in their original format without re-encoding or modifying content. PDFs, spreadsheets, and Office documents are delivered exactly as you uploaded them, including formatting and embedded data. Recipients can also preview PDFs directly in the browser before downloading, so they can confirm they have the right document without opening additional software.


Yes, password protection is available on all plans. You can set a password before sending or add one to an existing transfer from your Transfers panel. Only recipients who have the password can access the files, and the password is never included in the notification email, so you share it with the intended recipients through a separate channel of your choice.
