Sending 3D files to a client or collaborator is only half the job. WeTransfer gives you visibility into what happens after you hit send, so you can confirm delivery and move the project forward with confidence.
Keep tabs on your transfer's downloaders
When 3D models, CAD files, or renders are part of a client handoff or approval workflow, knowing they arrived matters as much as sending them. WeTransfer logs download activity for every transfer you send, and your account shows you the current status any time you check. If you used email delivery, each recipient has their own individual status so you can pinpoint exactly who has collected the files and who still needs a prompt. For larger productions or sensitive model packages, enabling Access Control before you send adds email verification at the point of download, giving you a timestamped record of each access event. Restricted downloads goes a step further, letting you limit access to a named list of approved addresses so your 3D assets reach only the people they were meant for.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Yes. Every transfer you send is tracked in your Transfers panel, where you can check whether files have been downloaded. For email deliveries, WeTransfer shows a per-recipient status, updated the moment each person downloads, so you can tell at a glance who has your 3D files and who has not.
Basic download status is on by default for all transfers. If you want more detail, you can enable Access Control before sending: with Tracked downloads active, anyone opening the link verifies their email address first and you receive a notification each time a download happens, along with a record of who accessed the files and when.
No. WeTransfer sends your files in their original format without re-encoding or modifying them, so mesh data, textures, and file metadata stay exactly as you exported them. When multiple files are downloaded together they are packaged into a zip using lossless compression, which means nothing is changed inside the files themselves.
Yes. Before sending, you can enable Restricted downloads under Access Control and add a list of approved email addresses. Anyone who opens the link will need to verify their email against that list before they can download, which keeps proprietary models or unreleased designs away from unintended recipients.
Yes. Download tracking works the same way regardless of how large or complex the transfer is. If you are sending heavy scene files, full asset libraries, or high-resolution renders, you can still check download status from your Transfers panel and enable Access Control for per-download notifications, just as you would with any other transfer.
