WeTransfer shows a download status for every transfer in your Sent panel, so you're never left guessing. For email transfers, each recipient has their own indicator, updated with a timestamp the moment they download. If you want a more active layer of confirmation, you can enable Access Control before sending: anyone who opens your link must verify their email address first, and you receive a notification each time a download happens. For deliveries where you need tighter control over who gets access, Restricted downloads lets you lock a transfer to a named list of email addresses, so the files go only to the people you choose.

Open your Transfers panel and click on any sent transfer. For email transfers, you'll see a status indicator next to each recipient's email address. Once they download, that indicator updates with the exact date and time. For link transfers, you'll see a general downloaded status once the link has been used.
Basic download status is visible automatically in your Transfers panel without any setup. If you want a notification sent to you each time someone downloads, you can enable Access Control (Tracked downloads) when setting up your transfer. This requires downloaders to verify their email first, and you receive a detailed notification for each download event.
Download status for sent transfers is always visible in your Transfers panel, even after you've sent them. However, Access Control settings need to be enabled before you send, so if you want email-verified tracking or restricted access on a future delivery, set those options in the transfer window before clicking Transfer.
Tracked downloads lets anyone with your link access the transfer, but they must verify their email address first, and you receive a notification each time someone downloads. Restricted downloads goes a step further, limiting access entirely to a specific list of email addresses you provide, so people not on that list cannot get through at all. Both options are available on all plans and must be enabled by the sender before sending.
If you enabled Access Control with a Restricted access list before sending, you can edit that list after the fact. Go to the transfer details page, find the Access list section, and click Edit to add or remove email addresses. Changes take effect immediately. This management option is only available in the web version of WeTransfer.
