Share videos and get feedback without the back-and-forth

Send a video through WeTransfer and your recipients can watch it directly in the browser, then drop comments on the file right where they are watching. You manage the transfer from your account, updating titles, descriptions, and settings long after the video has been sent.

Collaborate on every transfer

Getting useful notes on a shared video usually means chasing people across email threads, chat messages, and third-party tools that were never built for this. WeTransfer keeps feedback tied to the actual file: recipients can preview videos in the browser and leave comments on individual files in the transfer, with no account required on their end. You get an email notification each time a new comment lands, so you stay across the conversation as it happens. From the transfer detail page, you can rename the transfer, update the description, or adjust comment preferences at any point after sending. For sensitive footage, you can lock the transfer with a password or limit access to a specific list of email addresses, either before the transfer goes out or after.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes. Recipients can open MP4 and MOV files (up to 300 MB) directly in the browser preview without downloading anything. Once they are watching, they can leave comments tied to individual files in the transfer, and they do not need a WeTransfer account to do so, just a name and email address when prompted.

Go to your Transfers panel, open the transfer, scroll to Extra settings, and expand the Comments section to change the preference. Turning comments off hides existing ones from viewers without deleting them, so if you re-enable comments later they will all come back. The setting takes effect immediately.

Yes. WeTransfer sends you an email notification each time a new comment is left on a file in your transfer, so you do not need to check back manually. Recipients can edit or delete their own comments, and you as the transfer owner can delete any comment on your transfer.

Viewers can mark individual files as favorites while browsing the preview, which makes it easier for them to flag the specific clips or files they want to call out. They can also choose to download only the files they need rather than the whole transfer, which is useful when you have sent a batch of video assets together.

Yes. From your Transfers panel, click into the transfer and select Edit title or update the description from the transfer detail page. You can also adjust settings like expiry date, password, or comment preferences at any time after the transfer has gone out, and any changes take effect straight away.
