Yes. Recipients can open MP4 and MOV files directly in the browser preview and watch them without downloading. Once they are watching, they can click on any file in the transfer to open the comment field and leave feedback. They do not need a WeTransfer account to comment, only a name and email address.
WeTransfer never re-encodes or compresses your files, so recipients receive the footage exactly as you uploaded it, including 4K video. The browser preview plays at a slightly lower resolution to keep things fast, but the downloaded file is always the original. Reviewers can preview to give feedback and choose to download only the clips they actually need.
WeTransfer sends you an email notification each time a new comment is posted on any file in your transfer. This means you do not need to keep checking your transfers panel; the feedback comes to you. You can manage comment notifications alongside your other transfer email preferences from your account settings.
Yes. Open the transfer from your transfers panel, scroll to the Extra settings section, expand Comments, and choose whether to allow or disable them. Turning comments off hides existing ones from viewers but does not delete them, so re-enabling them later brings everything back. The change takes effect immediately for anyone with the link.
Yes. From the transfer detail page in your account, you can rename the transfer or add and edit a description at any time after sending. This is useful when a cut gets a new version label or a project name changes mid-review. You can also adjust settings like password protection and expiry from the same page.
