Yes. Anyone who receives a transfer link can open it in their browser, preview supported files, and leave comments without downloading anything or signing up. If they are not logged in, they simply enter their name and email address to post a comment. This keeps the feedback process frictionless for wholesale suppliers, packaging agencies, and other external partners who do not use WeTransfer day to day.


Recipients can preview images (including JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, PSD, and RAW formats), PDFs, MP4 and MOV video files up to 300 MB, audio files, and common Office and document formats directly in the browser. For retail teams, this covers the most common review assets: product photography, lookbook PDFs, promotional video cuts, planogram exports, and supplier spec sheets. Files are displayed at a slightly lower resolution for preview purposes, and recipients can choose to download only the files they need.


Comments in WeTransfer are anchored to the individual file they refer to, not appended to the transfer as a whole. A merchandising manager can comment on a shelf layout image, a copywriter can flag a change on a promotional PDF, and a photographer can note something on a product shot, all without their feedback colliding. You receive an email notification for each new comment, and transfer owners can delete any comment while recipients can edit or remove their own.


Yes. From the transfer detail page in your account you can rename the transfer, revise its description, and change comment permissions at any point after sending. Turning comments off hides existing comments from viewers but does not delete them, so you can re-enable them later and all previous feedback reappears. This flexibility is useful when a campaign brief evolves or a retail range gets updated mid-review cycle.


WeTransfer gives you a few ways to control access. You can add a password to any transfer before or after sending, and the password is never included in the notification email, so only recipients you brief directly can open the files. You can also enable restricted access, which limits downloads to a specific list of email addresses you define. On paid plans, tracked downloads let you see exactly who opened and downloaded the transfer, with email verification required before access is granted.
