Annotate and discuss shared PDFs in one place

Send a PDF through WeTransfer and recipients can open it directly in the browser, read through every page, and leave comments on the file without downloading anything first. You keep full control of the transfer from your account, updating the title, description, or settings whenever you need to.

Collaborate on every transfer

Collecting feedback on a shared PDF often means piecing together replies from email, chat, and separate annotation tools before you can act on any of it. WeTransfer puts comments where they belong: attached to the specific PDF in the transfer, visible in the browser, with no account required for the person leaving them. Every new comment triggers an email notification to you, so nothing slips through without your knowing. From the transfer detail page you can adjust the title, description, expiry date, and comment preferences at any point after the PDF has gone out. For documents that need tighter control, password protection and access restriction by email address are available on all plans.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes. Recipients can open a PDF directly in the WeTransfer browser preview, read through it, and leave comments on the file without downloading a thing. No WeTransfer account is needed to preview or comment, so there is no friction for the person giving feedback.

Go to your Transfers panel, open the transfer detail page, scroll to Extra settings, and expand the Comments option. You can switch comments on or off at any time after sending. Turning comments off hides existing comments from viewers but does not delete them, so re-enabling restores everything that was left before.

Recipients can mark individual files in the transfer as favorites while browsing the preview. For a multi-file transfer that includes a PDF alongside other documents, this gives you a quick read on what stood out before anyone has downloaded anything.

Yes. From the transfer detail page in your account you can rename the transfer, edit the description, change the expiry date, and adjust other settings at any point after sending. Recipients are not automatically notified of changes, so if the update is important, let them know directly.

You have two options on all plans. Add a password before or after sending, and only recipients who know it can open the transfer. Alternatively, enable restricted access and supply a list of email addresses, so the download is blocked for anyone not on that list. Both can be set or changed from the transfer detail page after the PDF has already been sent.
