They just need to enter their name and email address before commenting. WeTransfer supports browser preview and commenting on PDFs, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and a range of RAW image formats, as well as MP4 and MOV video files and common document types like DOC, DOCX, PPT, and XLSX. Yes. From the transfer detail page in your account you can rename the transfer, edit its description, and change whether comments are allowed, all without re-uploading the files. Disabling comments hides existing ones from viewers but does not delete them, so you can re-enable them later and the full comment thread is restored. This flexibility is useful when a document moves from open review to a locked final state.
WeTransfer is GDPR-compliant and based in the EU, with files stored on AWS servers in Ireland and encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest using AES-256. The platform is ISO 27001 certified and Data Processing Agreements are available for business plan customers, which is relevant for healthcare organizations operating under GDPR or similar frameworks.
