Yes. Recipients can open your transfer in the browser preview and comment on individual files without downloading anything or creating a WeTransfer account. They just need to enter a name and email address if they are not logged in. You receive an email notification each time a new comment is posted.
WeTransfer supports in-browser preview for images, PDFs, audio, video, and common document formats. For font review workflows, PDFs showing type specimens, JPEG or PNG proofs, and Word documents with usage guidelines all preview directly in the browser and support comments. Raw font binary files such as OTF or TTF are included in the transfer and downloadable, but the preview and commenting experience works best with your specimen or proof documents.
Go to Transfers, open the transfer detail page, scroll to Extra settings, and expand the Comments option to change the setting. Disabling comments hides existing ones from viewers without deleting them, so re-enabling restores everything. The change takes effect immediately, and the setting applies to all files in that transfer.
Yes. Anyone viewing your transfer in the browser preview can mark individual files as favorites and choose to download only the files they actually need. This is especially handy in font reviews where a creative director might want to flag a specific weight or specimen PDF without pulling down an entire type family at once.
Every plan includes password protection, which requires recipients to enter a password before accessing the files. You can also enable restricted access to lock the transfer to a specific list of email addresses, so only those people can open it after verifying their identity. Both options can be set before sending or updated from the transfer detail page afterwards.
