Finance and banking teams often need a faster, more traceable way to gather input on sensitive documents. WeTransfer lets recipients comment on individual files directly inside the browser preview, while you retain full control over the transfer details, access permissions, and comment settings after sending.
Collaborate on every transfer
When financial documents go out for review, whether quarterly reports, pitch decks, loan summaries, or compliance materials, keeping feedback organized and tied to the right file matters. WeTransfer's browser-based preview lets recipients comment on individual files and mark their favorites without downloading anything or creating an account, so input from colleagues or clients arrives in context rather than scattered across reply threads. You receive an email notification each time a comment is added, giving you a clear view of where a review stands as it progresses. After a transfer is sent, you can return to the transfer detail page at any time to rename it, update the description, or adjust comment and access permissions without re-uploading files. Every plan includes password protection and the option to restrict access to a specific list of email addresses, which is especially relevant when the documents being shared contain confidential financial data.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Yes. Recipients can open the transfer in their browser, comment on individual files, and mark favorites without a WeTransfer account or any software installed. If they are not logged in, they are prompted to enter their name and email address before commenting. You receive an email notification each time a new comment arrives, so you always know when feedback has landed.
WeTransfer's browser preview supports PDFs, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, images, audio, and video, covering most formats that circulate in finance and banking workflows. Recipients can review the content in-browser, decide which files to download, and leave comments on each file individually. Files are displayed at a slightly lower resolution than the original, but the originals are never altered.
You can enable restricted access on any transfer, which limits downloads to a defined list of email addresses you specify. When someone opens the link, they must verify their email, and access is only granted if it matches your list. Password protection is also available on every plan as an additional layer, so the two can be used together for especially sensitive materials such as deal documents or regulatory filings.
Yes. From the transfer detail page in your account, you can rename the transfer, edit the description, and change whether commenting is enabled or disabled at any point after sending, with no need to re-upload the files. Disabling comments hides existing comments from recipients but does not delete them, so you can re-enable them later and they will reappear. Changes take effect immediately.
If you share a transfer via a download link, there is no cap on the number of people who can access it. If you send by email instead, free accounts support up to 10 recipients per transfer, while paid plans allow up to 50. Any recipient with access can leave comments in the preview, making link-based sharing a practical option when a document needs to reach a larger group of reviewers such as a deal team or an external audit panel.
