Yes. Recipients open the transfer in their browser and can leave comments on individual files directly inside the preview, with no download required and no WeTransfer account needed. They just need to enter their name and email address if they are not logged in. You receive an email notification each time a comment is added, so you always know where the review stands.
WeTransfer supports in-browser preview for PDFs, images including JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and HEIC, video files up to 300 MB, audio, and common document formats such as DOCX and PPTX. Most engineering workflows that distribute technical reports, site photography, annotated drawings exported as PDF, or recorded walkthroughs are covered. For proprietary CAD formats, recipients can still download the original files at full quality without any re-encoding or compression.
Go to your Transfers panel, open the transfer, and you can edit the title and description from the transfer detail page. Changes take effect immediately and do not require re-uploading any files. This is useful when a drawing set goes through revision stages and you want the transfer name to reflect the latest issue or revision number.
Yes. Open the transfer from your Transfers panel, scroll to Extra settings, expand the Comments section, and change the setting. Disabling comments hides existing ones from recipients without deleting them, so you can re-enable them later and restore the full comment history. Comments are off by default on each transfer unless you switch them on before or after sending.
WeTransfer includes password protection and restricted access on all plans. Password protection requires anyone opening the link to enter a password you set, which you share with recipients separately. Restricted access lets you specify a list of email addresses, and only those addresses are granted entry after verifying their identity. Both options are available when creating a transfer or can be set from the transfer detail page after sending. For transfers containing confidential specs or pre-tender documentation, using both together gives you an additional layer of control.
