When you share documents through WeTransfer, collaboration does not stop at the download link. Recipients can read and comment on PDFs and Office files right in the browser, while you stay in control of every transfer detail from your account, updating titles, descriptions, and settings whenever you need to.
Collaborate on every transfer
Sharing documents for review often creates a mess of replies in different places, with no clear connection between a note and the file it refers to. WeTransfer keeps feedback attached to the specific document it belongs to: recipients can open PDFs, Word files, spreadsheets, and presentations in the browser preview and leave comments on each one, all without downloading anything or creating an account. You receive an email notification each time a comment comes in, so you always know when someone has responded. From the transfer detail page in your account, you can update the transfer title, tweak the description, or adjust comment settings at any point after sending. For documents containing sensitive information, you can add a password or limit access to a named list of email addresses, either before or after the transfer goes out.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Yes. Anyone who receives your transfer can open supported documents in the browser preview and leave a comment on individual files without a WeTransfer account. They just need to enter their name and email address if they are not logged in. You get an email notification for each new comment, so nothing slips through the cracks.
WeTransfer supports in-browser preview for PDFs, Word documents (DOC and DOCX), PowerPoint presentations (PPT and PPTX), Excel spreadsheets (XLS and XLSX), and several other formats including RTF, ODT, ODS, CSV, and TXT files up to 256 MB. Recipients can comment on any file displayed in the preview, and they can also mark individual files as favorites before deciding what to download.
Yes. Open the transfer in your account, go to the transfer detail page, and you can rename it, edit the description, change the expiry date, or adjust other settings at any time. Changes take effect immediately, and the download link stays the same, so recipients do not need a new link.
Go to your Transfers panel, open the transfer, scroll to Extra settings, and expand the Comments section to change the setting. Turning comments off hides existing comments from recipients but does not delete them permanently. Switch comments back on and they reappear exactly as they were.
Yes. You can add a password to any transfer so only recipients who know it can access the files, or you can enable restricted access to limit downloads to a specific list of email addresses. Both options are available on all plans and can be set or updated from the transfer detail page after sending. The password is not included in the notification email, so you share it with recipients separately.
