Construction projects move faster when feedback lands on the right file instead of getting lost in a chain of emails. WeTransfer lets site teams, architects, and contractors share plans, drawings, and documents, then collect comments directly inside the browser preview without anyone needing to download a thing or create an account.
Collaborate on every transfer
Getting clear input on construction files, whether floor plans, structural drawings, or site photos, usually means chasing replies across multiple threads. WeTransfer keeps feedback tied to the specific file it belongs to: recipients open the transfer in their browser, leave comments on individual files, and mark favorites, while you see a notification each time a new comment arrives. Supported preview formats include PDFs, images, video walkthroughs, and common document types, covering most of what moves between a project team and their consultants or clients. Once a transfer is out, you can return to the transfer detail page at any point to rename it, update the description, or change comment permissions without touching the original files. Password protection and the option to restrict access to a defined list of email addresses are available on every plan, so sensitive site documents and pre-tender drawings only reach the people they are meant for.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Yes. Anyone who receives your transfer can open it in the browser and leave comments on individual files without downloading anything or creating a WeTransfer account. They will need to enter their name and email address if they are not logged in, but no sign-up is required. You receive an email notification each time a comment is added, so feedback from site teams and consultants stays easy to track.
The browser preview supports PDFs, JPEG, PNG, and other image formats, MP4 and MOV video files, as well as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. For construction workflows that often involve PDF drawings, spec sheets, and photo documentation, this covers most common file types. Formats not supported by the preview can still be sent and downloaded, but comments are available only on files that render in the preview.
Go to your Transfers panel, open the transfer, scroll to Extra settings, and expand the Comments section to change the setting. Disabling comments hides existing ones from recipients but does not delete them, so you can re-enable them later and everything reappears. This is useful when a drawing package moves from review to an approved-for-construction stage and you want to close the comment round.
Yes. From the transfer detail page you can edit the title and update the description at any time after sending, with no need to re-upload the files. This is handy when drawing revision numbers change or a package needs to be relabelled to reflect the latest issue, so your client always sees the correct reference without receiving a new transfer link.
Every plan includes password protection, which you can add before sending or apply later from the transfer detail page. You can also enable restricted access, which limits downloads to a specific list of email addresses, so the link is useless to anyone not on that list even if it gets forwarded. The password is never included in the notification email, so you share it with the intended recipients through a separate channel.
