Get feedback on your 3D files without the back-and-forth

WeTransfer lets you share 3D and CAD files and collect comments directly on each file in the browser preview. Reviewers can open transfers, leave notes on individual files, and mark favorites without installing anything or creating an account, while you keep full control over transfer settings from your account.

Collaborate on every transfer

When 3D work goes out for review, feedback often arrives late, out of context, or scattered across messages that have nothing to do with the actual geometry or design intent. WeTransfer lets recipients open your transfer in the browser and comment on individual files, so notes stay anchored to the work they describe rather than floating in a separate thread. You receive an email notification each time a comment is added, which makes it easy to follow a review cycle as it unfolds. From the transfer detail page you can update the title, edit the description, and adjust comment settings at any point after sending, handy when a design iteration replaces an earlier version mid-review. For sensitive project files, every plan includes password protection and the option to restrict access to a named list of email addresses.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes. Recipients can open your transfer in the browser preview and comment directly on each supported file without downloading anything or signing up for an account. They just need to enter their name and email address to post a comment. You get an email notification each time a new comment appears.

No. WeTransfer sends every file in its original state, with no re-encoding, no resolution changes, and no quality loss. Your 3D models, CAD packages, and design files arrive exactly as you uploaded them, so the recipient is always working from the same source data you intended to share.

Yes. From the transfer detail page in your account you can update the title, revise the description, and toggle comment settings at any time after sending. This is useful when a revised mesh or updated assembly replaces the original and you want the transfer to reflect the current state of the project.

You can lock any transfer with a password before or after sending, available on all plans. If you need tighter control, you can also restrict access to a specific list of email addresses, so only those recipients can open the download link after verifying their email. Both options can be enabled from the transfer settings panel.

Yes. Inside the browser preview, recipients can mark individual files as favorites, helping them identify which parts of a complex 3D package are most relevant to them. They can also choose to download only the specific files they need rather than the entire transfer, which is practical when a project folder contains multiple mesh variants or render outputs.
