Uploading made effortless

Photographers and videographers deal with some of the largest, most format-sensitive files in any creative workflow, and a clunky upload tool is the last thing you need between a shoot and a delivery. WeTransfer's homepage is the uploader — drag your files onto it and the transfer starts immediately, letting you copy a share link or add recipient addresses while files are already on their way. Everything arrives exactly as you shot or exported it, with no re-encoding or resolution loss, so ARW and NEF raws, ProRes masters, DNG sequences, and PSD composites reach the other side intact. Recipients can preview images, video, and audio directly in the browser before downloading, and they can flag favorites or leave comments on individual files, making feedback rounds faster and simpler. When you need tighter control over a client delivery or a pre-release gallery, password protection and restricted access let you decide precisely who can open the transfer.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes. WeTransfer sends every file exactly as it left your drive, with no compression, re-encoding, or resolution changes. RAW formats including ARW, NEF, CR2, CR3, DNG, and RAF all transfer intact, as do ProRes exports, H.264 or H.265 masters, and PSD or layered composites. What your client downloads is bit-for-bit identical to what you uploaded.

Go to wetransfer.com, drag your files or folders directly onto the homepage, and the upload begins immediately. You can add a recipient's email address for direct delivery to their inbox, or switch to a link transfer and get a shareable URL to paste anywhere. WeTransfer also starts uploading the moment files are added, before you even hit send, so large batches keep moving while you fill in the details.

Yes, WeTransfer supports folder uploads. You can drag an entire shoot directory onto the homepage and it will be delivered with the original folder structure preserved, so your client downloads everything organized exactly the way you structured it on your end.

Yes. Recipients can view images, video, audio, and PDFs directly in the browser without downloading anything first. Previews support JPEG, PNG, TIFF, HEIC, PSD, most RAW formats, MP4, MOV, MP3, and WAV, among others. Clients can mark favorite files and leave comments on individual items, which makes approval rounds and selects much easier to manage.

You have a couple of options. Password protection lets you lock any transfer so only recipients who know the password can access it — the password is not included in the notification email, so you share it separately through whatever channel you prefer. For tighter control, restricted access limits downloads to a specific list of email addresses, and you receive a notification each time someone on that list opens the files.
