Uploading made effortless

Type designers, art directors, and studios often need to share font files quickly, whether that is a custom typeface for a client review, a licensed family for a production handoff, or a variable font still in development. Drag your OTF, TTF, WOFF, or any other font format straight onto the WeTransfer homepage and the upload begins immediately, with no need to configure anything first. Every file arrives exactly as it left your machine, so hinting data, kerning tables, and embedded metadata all come through untouched. You can send files straight to a recipient's inbox or generate a shareable link to drop into a message thread or brief. For sensitive or pre-release work, password protection and restricted access let you control exactly who can get to the files.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Yes, the WeTransfer homepage works as a drag-and-drop upload window. Pull your font files from your desktop or file manager, drop them onto the page, and the upload begins straight away. You can then add recipients by email or switch to a shareable link before or after the upload completes.

No. WeTransfer sends files exactly as they are, with no re-encoding, compression, or modification of any kind. Your OTF, TTF, WOFF, WOFF2, or other font formats will arrive on the recipient's end with all their original data intact, including hinting instructions, OpenType features, and any embedded metadata.

Yes, WeTransfer supports folder uploads and preserves the original folder structure. Drag the top-level folder for your font family onto the upload window and the recipient will download it with all the subfolders and files organized exactly as you sent them, which saves them from having to sort files manually.

You have a couple of options. Adding a password to the transfer means only recipients who know it can download the files. Restricted access lets you specify individual email addresses, so only those people can open the link even if it ends up forwarded or shared elsewhere. Both settings can be applied before you send or adjusted afterwards from your transfers panel.

No, recipients can download and preview transfers without creating an account or installing anything. They just open the link or click the download button in the notification email. Only the sender needs an account, which is free to set up and is created automatically the first time you send.
