Uploading made effortless

Designers handing off Figma files need a fast, no-fuss route from their desktop to a colleague or client, and WeTransfer was built for exactly that moment. Drag your files onto the WeTransfer homepage and the upload starts immediately, before you have even thought about recipients. Every file arrives untouched in its original format, so the layers, components, and assets your collaborator opens will be exactly what you sent. You can grab a shareable link to paste into Slack, email, or wherever your team communicates, or send directly to specific people from the same upload window. If the handoff includes proprietary work or anything confidential, you can lock the transfer behind a password or restrict access to a specific list of email addresses.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Open wetransfer.com in your browser, then drag your Figma file from your desktop or file manager straight onto the transfer window and drop it there. The upload starts the moment the file lands. Once it is ready, you can either enter a recipient's email address or switch to link mode and copy a shareable URL.

No. WeTransfer sends every file in its original, unmodified state with no re-encoding or compression applied to your content. Your Figma file arrives on the other end exactly as it left your machine, so the recipient gets the full document with nothing stripped or changed.

Yes. WeTransfer supports folder uploads, and the original folder structure is preserved for the recipient when they download. That means related Figma files, assets, and any supporting documents you keep organized together will arrive in the same arrangement, with no manual reorganization needed on their end.

WeTransfer's in-browser preview works with a range of image and document formats, though Figma's native .fig format is not currently a supported preview type. Recipients can still see the list of files in the transfer and choose what to download, and they do not need a WeTransfer account to access anything.

You have two options when setting up your transfer. Password protection lets you lock the download behind a code you share separately with your intended recipient. Restricted access goes further: you specify one or more email addresses, and only people who verify against that list can open the link. Both options are available on all plans and can be set before you send or adjusted afterwards from your Transfers panel.
