WeTransfer turns your browser into a drag-and-drop upload window. Pull your design files straight from your desktop, drop them onto the homepage, and the upload begins on its own — no plugins, no menus, no prep work before you hit send.
Uploading made effortless
Designers moving work between collaborators, clients, or studios need a tool that keeps up with their pace, and WeTransfer removes every unnecessary step. Drag your files onto the homepage and uploading starts the moment they land — you choose where to send them after, not before. Design files reach their destination exactly as you created them, with no compression, no re-encoding, and no alteration to resolution or color profiles, so PSDs, AI files, Sketch documents, Figma exports, and 3D assets all arrive pixel-perfect. You can send to one person or many by email, or generate a shareable link and drop it into Slack, a client portal, or anywhere else your team already works. Recipients can preview supported formats directly in the browser before downloading, so a client can confirm they have the right version without pulling the whole file onto their machine. Add a password to keep work-in-progress files away from unintended eyes, or restrict access to a specific list of email addresses for sensitive briefs and final deliverables.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
WeTransfer accepts any file type you can put on your desktop, so PSD, PSB, AI, Sketch, Figma exports, XD files, InDesign packages, 3D and CAD files, and ZIP archives of full project folders all upload without issue. There is no conversion or re-encoding at any point, so color profiles, layer structures, and embedded assets arrive exactly as you saved them. If your project lives in a folder, you can drag the whole folder in and recipients download it with the original file structure intact.
WeTransfer starts uploading the moment files land on the page — before you have typed a recipient's name or made any other choice. Uploads are resilient too: if your connection drops or the page reloads, progress is saved and resumes automatically rather than starting over. For very large project folders with many assets, zipping them first can make the upload and download smoother for both sides.
No account is needed to download. Recipients click the link or the button in the notification email and go straight to their files, with no sign-up prompt in the way. They can also preview supported file types — including images and PDFs — in the browser before deciding what to download, which is useful when you have included multiple assets and they only need a specific one.
You can add a password to any transfer before sending, and only people who know it can open the files — the password is never included in the notification email, so you share it through a separate channel. For tighter control, restricted access lets you specify a list of email addresses: anyone who opens the link must verify their email, and access is only granted if they are on your list. Download tracking is also available on all plans, so you can see exactly who has downloaded and when.
Yes. When sending, you can configure the transfer so recipients can only preview the files in the browser rather than downloading them, which is useful for client sign-off on visual work before you release the source files. Recipients can also leave comments on individual files in the preview, giving clients and collaborators a direct way to mark up feedback without needing a separate review tool. On Ultimate, you can also add per-transfer descriptions and custom backgrounds, which helps frame the work before a client even opens a file.
