With a free account you can send up to 10 transfers per rolling 30-day window, with a combined transfer size of up to 3 GB and links that stay active for up to 3 days. Password protection, download tracking, and access restrictions are available on all plans, including free. Free transfers are for non-commercial use only, and recipients never need an account to download.
WeTransfer sends files in their original quality with no re-encoding, no resolution loss, and no compression artifacts. A 4K video, a RAW photo, or a layered design file arrives at the other end exactly as it left yours. When multiple files are packaged together, WeTransfer uses lossless compression for the zip, so the contents are not altered.
Yes. You can lock any transfer with a password, and the password is never included in the download email, so only recipients you've told can get in. You can also restrict access to a specific list of email addresses, meaning anyone outside that list who opens the link won't be able to download. Both options are available across all plans and can be changed after sending from your Transfers panel.
On the free plan, transfer links stay active for up to 3 days, after which the files are permanently removed from WeTransfer's servers. On Ultimate and above, you can set a custom expiry or keep transfers active indefinitely. Ultimate users can also recover expired transfers, including ones that expired before upgrading, subject to the file size and time limits of the recovery window.
