WeTransfer is built specifically for files that outgrow email attachments. On a free account you can send up to 3 GB per transfer, and on Ultimate and above there is no per-transfer size cap, so you can move large video projects, high-resolution photo sets, or bulky design files without splitting them up. Files are uploaded to WeTransfer's servers and your recipient gets a download link or an email notification, with no size-related degradation to the content.
No. WeTransfer sends files exactly as you uploaded them, with no compression, no re-encoding, and no resolution loss. A 4K video arrives as a 4K video; a RAW image file arrives as a RAW image file. The zip packaging used for multi-file downloads is lossless, so the files inside are identical to what you sent.
Recipients never need a WeTransfer account to download or preview a transfer. If you share via a download link, anyone with the link can access the files with no recipient cap. If you send by email, you can reach up to 10 recipients on a free account and up to 50 on paid plans. Recipients can also preview images, video, audio, and PDFs in the browser before they decide what to download.
You can add or change a password, adjust the expiry date, enable download tracking, or restrict access to a specific list of email addresses at any time after sending, all from your Transfers panel. You can also delete a transfer immediately if you need to revoke access, which disables the download link right away. On Ultimate and above, expired transfers can be recovered even retroactively, so a link that has lapsed is not necessarily gone for good.
