Every team member sends directly from a browser with no software to install, and recipients download without needing an account. Files are stored on AWS infrastructure in the EU, encrypted in transit and at rest, so the handoff is consistent whether your colleague is in Amsterdam or Auckland. Each transfer gets its own unique link that can be shared via chat, email, or wherever your team already communicates.


Yes. The Teams plan gives up to 50 members a shared workspace with centralized billing, shared storage up to 5 TB, and a single branded WeTransfer page your whole organization can point clients to. Admins can see and manage all transfers across the workspace, while members see only their own. Branding, including logo, custom subdomain, rotating wallpapers, and email backgrounds, is shared consistently across the team.


WeTransfer handles any file type without re-encoding or compressing: 4K video, RAW and PSD files, audio, 3D and CAD formats, ZIP archives, Office documents, and more all arrive exactly as they left the sender. You can also upload entire folders and recipients download them with the original folder structure intact, which matters a lot when handing off organized project assets.


Download tracking is available on all plans. Enable it on a transfer and you can see who downloaded your files and when, right from your transfers panel. For tighter control, you can also restrict access so only specific email addresses can open the transfer, and WeTransfer will notify you each time one of them downloads. Both settings are configured per transfer before or after sending.


On the Free plan, transfers expire after a maximum of 3 days, which can be a problem across time zones. WeTransfer Ultimate lets you set a custom expiry or keep transfers active indefinitely, and if a transfer does expire, Ultimate users can recover it retroactively, even for transfers that expired before upgrading. For teams on the Teams or Enterprise plan, the same expiry flexibility and recovery options apply.
