In journalism and media, every file you send is a representation of your work. WeTransfer Ultimate lets you give each transfer its own custom background image and a written description, so raw footage, edited packages, photo galleries, and press materials reach editors, clients, and collaborators looking like something you meant to send rather than a bare download link.
Your transfers, personalized
Media professionals spend hours crafting the work, and branded delivery makes sure the presentation matches that effort. With per-transfer customization on WeTransfer Ultimate, you can wrap each handoff in a distinct visual and a message written specifically for that recipient, whether you're sending a finished documentary cut to a broadcaster, a photo essay to a picture editor, or a press kit to a PR contact. Every file travels in its original quality with no compression or re-encoding, so 4K footage, RAW image files, high-resolution graphics, and audio mixes land exactly as you rendered them. Recipients can open the link in any browser and preview compatible files directly on the page before downloading, with no account required on their end, keeping things moving when deadlines are tight. For embargoed content, exclusive assets, or pre-publication materials, you can restrict access to specific email addresses, add a password, or apply both controls to keep sensitive files with the right people only.
Our features are designed to minimize how much of your data we — or anyone else — can access, so you can keep what's yours, yours.

All your questions answered.
Yes. On WeTransfer Ultimate, per-transfer customization is applied individually to each transfer you create, not as a single global style. That means a transfer carrying a news package for a broadcaster can have a completely different background image and description from one delivering stock photography to a magazine client. Each handoff carries its own visual identity and context.
WeTransfer sends any file type without altering it, including 4K and RAW video, camera RAW stills (ARW, NEF, CR2, DNG, and others), high-resolution PSD and TIFF files, audio tracks, PDFs, ZIP archives, and Office documents. Nothing is re-encoded or compressed during transfer, so what your editor or client receives is identical to what you uploaded. You can also upload entire folders and recipients download them with the original folder structure intact.
No account is needed on the recipient side. Anyone you send to can open the download link in a browser, preview compatible files like video, audio, images, and PDFs directly on the page, and download what they need without signing up. That removes friction for busy editors or contributors working to a deadline who don't want another login to manage.
WeTransfer gives you two access control tools you can use separately or together. You can restrict a transfer to a specific list of email addresses, so only verified recipients matching that list can open the files. You can also add a password that must be shared with recipients outside the transfer notification. Both options are available on all plans, and you can update the access list or change the password after a transfer has already been sent.
Yes. For email transfers, WeTransfer shows a checkmark next to each recipient's address in your Transfers panel once they download, and you can hover to see the exact date and time. If you enable tracked downloads, anyone who opens a link transfer is asked to verify their email before accessing the files, and you receive a notification with their details each time. This is useful for confirming delivery before a broadcast slot or publication date.
