Per-transfer customization on WeTransfer Ultimate is set at the individual transfer level, not as a single global setting. When preparing a delivery, you choose a background image and write a description specific to that transfer, so a pitch deck going to one client can look entirely different from a compliance package going to another. This means each recipient arrives at something tailored to them rather than a generic page.
WeTransfer handles any file type, so financial models, PDF reports, Excel workbooks, PowerPoint presentations, data exports, signed agreements, and ZIP archives of supporting materials all transfer without issue. Nothing is compressed or re-encoded in the process, so spreadsheets and documents reach recipients in exactly the state you sent them. WeTransfer Ultimate removes per-transfer size caps, which is useful when a due diligence package or data room export runs large.
WeTransfer gives you a few ways to control access. You can restrict a transfer to a specific list of email addresses, so only verified recipients can open it. You can also add a password that recipients must enter before downloading, or combine both measures for stricter control. These options are available on all plans, and the access list can be edited after sending from your Transfers panel if you need to add or remove someone.
No account is needed on the recipient side. A client or counterpart simply opens the link and downloads directly in their browser, without signing up or logging in. This removes any friction for time-pressed professionals receiving materials and means there is no barrier between your branded delivery and the files inside it.
