Once you create an album and give it a title and expiry date, WeTransfer gives you a shareable link along with a QR code and native share sheet option. You can display or print that QR code anywhere, at an event, on a slide, or in a message, and anyone who scans it lands straight in the album.
No account is needed to view the album. Anyone who scans the QR code can browse all the photos straight away. Only people who want to upload their own photos to the album need a free WeTransfer account.
Albums support JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, AVIF, TIF, TIFF, HEIC, and HEIF, so shots from both smartphones and professional cameras land without any conversion. Note that albums are designed for photos and videos only, so documents, audio files, and archives are not supported.
Yes, multiple contributors can add photos, though only one person can upload at a time. Each contributor needs a free WeTransfer account to add files. Anyone can view the growing collection without an account, which makes it practical for events where the crowd is mixed.
As the owner, you can remove any photo in the album, regardless of who uploaded it. You can also edit the album title, change the cover image, and adjust the expiry date. Other contributors can only delete photos they added themselves, and you are the only one who can delete the album entirely.
