Share a photo album through a QR code

Turn any collection of photos into a scannable link. Generate a transfer, grab the URL, and embed it in a QR code to share anywhere, from printed flyers to event screens. Anyone who scans it goes straight to the full album in their browser, no app or account needed.

Collect and share group photos in one place

Sharing a photo album via QR code is a natural fit for events, exhibitions, pop-ups, or anywhere your audience is standing in the same physical space. Upload your photos to WeTransfer once and share the resulting link through any QR code generator, giving everyone in the room instant access to the full collection the moment they point their phone at it. Every format you shoot in comes through without alteration: JPEG, HEIC, PNG, TIFF, PSD, and RAW files including DNG, NEF, ARW, CR2, and CR3 all arrive exactly as they left your camera. Viewers can scroll through each photo in a browser preview, mark favorites, and leave comments on individual images before deciding what to save. If the album is meant for a specific crowd, a password or a restricted access list keeps casual scanners out while letting the right people straight through.

FAQs

All your questions answered.

Once your photos have finished uploading, WeTransfer gives you a unique download link. Copy that link and paste it into any QR code generator, such as those built into Canva, Adobe Express, or free browser tools, and you get a scannable code you can print, project, or embed wherever your audience will see it. Anyone who scans the code lands directly on the album in their browser, with no extra steps.

No account is required to view or download. Scanning the QR code opens the transfer link in the browser, where viewers can browse every photo, preview individual images, and download the ones they want, all without signing up for anything. Only the person who created and sent the transfer needs a WeTransfer account.

WeTransfer sends every file exactly as you uploaded it, with no compression, re-encoding, or resolution changes applied. Whether you shot in JPEG, HEIC, TIFF, or a RAW format like DNG, NEF, ARW, CR2, or CR3, the downloaded file is bit-for-bit identical to the original. The in-browser preview renders at a slightly lower resolution so the page loads quickly, but the downloaded copy is always the full-quality original.

Yes. Before sharing the link, you can add a password to the transfer so that anyone who scans the code must enter it before seeing the photos. Alternatively, you can restrict access to a specific list of email addresses, meaning only people whose emails you approve can open the album after verifying their identity. Both options are available on all plans.

If you enable comments before sending, anyone who opens the transfer can click into individual photos to leave feedback or mark favorites, without downloading anything first. This is useful at events or exhibitions where you want real-time reactions, or in collaborative shoots where subjects or clients need to flag the frames they love. No WeTransfer account is needed for viewers to comment.
