No. Anyone with the album link can open and browse the photos directly in their browser, on any device, without installing an app or signing up for an account. WeTransfer Albums are designed to work with as little friction as possible for viewers.
Once you create an album, WeTransfer gives you a shareable link, a QR code, and a native share sheet option. You can drop the link into a message, email, group chat, or post it anywhere, and everyone who receives it can start viewing straight away.
WeTransfer Albums support JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, AVIF, TIF, TIFF, HEIC, and HEIF, so photos from smartphones, mirrorless cameras, and professional DSLRs can all sit side by side. Note that albums are for photos and videos only, so documents and audio files are not supported.
You can mix photos and videos in the same album. Supported video formats include MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM, MKV, and 3GP. It makes it easy to put still shots and short clips from the same event together in one place.
The album owner can delete any photo or video in the collection at any time. Other contributors can only remove files they uploaded themselves, and deletions are permanent for everyone in the album. Only the owner can delete the album entirely.
