Yes. Anyone who opens your transfer link can scroll through the full collection in their browser without downloading a single file first. They can preview images, mark favorites, leave comments on specific shots, and then download only the photos they want, rather than pulling down the entire album at once.
Never. WeTransfer sends every image in its original quality with no re-encoding, no compression, and no resolution loss. JPEG, HEIC, PNG, TIFF, PSD, and RAW formats including ARW, NEF, CR2, CR3, and DNG all come through exactly as they left your camera or phone.
No account is needed to open a transfer link, browse the photos, or download them. Your friends just click the link and everything is right there in their browser. Only the person sending the photos needs a free WeTransfer account.
Before you send, you can add a password to the transfer so that only people who know it can open the link. Alternatively, you can restrict access to a specific list of email addresses, meaning anyone outside that list is blocked even if they somehow get hold of the link. Both options are available on all plans.
On a free account you can send up to 3 GB per transfer, which covers a solid batch of high-resolution photos. If you regularly share large RAW collections or need more room, upgrading to Ultimate removes the per-transfer size cap entirely and also lets you keep links active for as long as you like rather than the 3-day expiry on free transfers.
