WePresent launches Drop School
A fly-on-the-wall documentary series exploring hype culture through a young designer’s ‘drop’
LONDON - 26 October, 2023 - WePresent, the content arm of WeTransfer, launches a fly-on-the-wall documentary podcast and Tiktok series called ‘Drop School’. The new series explores whether hype can be taught, and if so what the key ingredients are to generate desirability in networked culture today.
‘Drop School’ follows an emerging fashion designer in London called Jordy as he prepares to drop his very first product - a pair of military-inspired trousers with a flared silhouette. To help him navigate the fashion world, WePresent has sent him to ‘Drop School’ where over an eight-week period, stylists, brand managers, community managers, entrepreneurs, factory owners, and more advise him how to launch his new brand, ‘Recall Project’.
From concept to launch, ‘Drop School’ documents the process behind creating your brand and the reality for creators when dropping their first product. The masterclasses featured in the documentary series cover how to design a great logo, manage global manufacturing, produce a stand-out campaign video and even scale your brand without selling out, with the consultants sharing their stories and wisdom along the way.
The series - launched as a podcast today with supporting video content on WePresent’s Tiktok - culminates in a drop event in London where he must launch his product to the fashion community. The event takes place today, will be documented and launched as an additional episode in the series on 9 November, 2023.
‘Drop School’ is brought to you by WePresent, the arts platform of WeTransfer and is produced by Curly Media.
